Frankfurt am Main — May 06, 2021 — Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and strategy consultancy Plutoneo are pooling their blockchain expertise in a joint venture. Focusing on organizations in the banking and finance industry, the newly founded company, INTAS.tech, will develop solutions for using blockchain and distributed-ledger technologies (DLT).

Interest in digital assets, crypto assets (such as Bitcoin) and the digital euro is at an all-time high. Inevitably, this raises a host of regulatory issues, which the banking and finance industry must address as swiftly as possible. By setting up INTAS.tech, Frankfurt School and Plutoneo are responding to the growing demand for blockchain and DLT-based solutions — a specialist area addressed by INTAS.tech’s consulting services. INTAS.tech will focus on the specific needs of banks and financial services providers, drawing on the research expertise of the Frankfurt School Blockchain Centre as well as the technical and process-related expertise of Plutoneo. The two joint-venture partners will also support the new company with their extensive banking and finance-industry networks. INTAS.tech is based on the Frankfurt School campus. More information on the new company is available at www.intas.tech

The President of Frankfurt School, Professor Nils Stieglitz, explained the decision: “Our Blockchain Center is known throughout Europe as a research-led think tank. Now we are channelling this expertise into a new spin-off, so we can help businesses in the banking and finance industry use blockchain for their own innovative business models.” Professor Stieglitz made it clear that Frankfurt School intends to do more than deliver outstanding research and teaching; Frankfurt School also aims to play an active role in support of business and society, as evidenced by the Blockchain Center and now by INTAS.tech. “I am constantly amazed and delighted by the entrepreneurial enthusiasm of my Blockchain Center colleagues — it will enrich Frankfurt School’s ongoing development.”

Volker Braunberger will be heading the new company as CEO. He is convinced that the partnership between Plutoneo and Frankfurt School will add significant value for customers: “INTAS.tech represents a unique combination, bringing together decades of experience in implementation-focused consulting services with cutting-edge research into the use of blockchain technologies.” Ulrich Rogmans, Managing Director of Plutoneo, adds that: “Even better, clients can take part in the research and implementation projects that are showing the way forward for the banking and finance industry. INTAS.tech is ideally positioned to provide clients with solid, expert advice on how best to apply this innovative and highly promising technology.”

Volker Braunberger, Ulrich Rogmans, Professor Nils Stieglitz and Professor Philipp Sandner, Head of the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center, are available for interviews by arrangement.
